YOUTH COACHING

A respected mentor and role model, who had a positive impact on my career has a saying, ‘lift as you climb’.  This resonated with me and inspired me to step out of my corporate comfort zone and give something back.  I started to work with the multi award winning social enterprise Girls Out Loud and never looked back.  They work to empower teenage girls to learn, lead and thrive. I have been a ‘Big Sister’ mentoring and acting as a role model for a teenage girl and volunteering to visit schools to support role model sessions with other inspirational women. I am proud to say I am now a GOL evangelist and became an Ambassador in 2017.

This experience prompted me to think more broadly about youth coaching and drove the decision to add this to my portfolio of services.  Once again, the approach and format for the sessions are bespoke to the individual. Remember it’s all about you and your needs.  Whether it is building confidence and self belief, facing into challenges and growing greater resilience or looking to the future, planning education and career next steps. 

I would always start with a clear picture of ‘the now’ and work with you to develop a supportive coaching plan.  I firmly believe that the most important thing in a coaching relationship, from youth coaching through to executive level, is to build trust and rapport that allows the coachee to feel comfortable in exploring their own thinking.
